Getting started with Screencastify
The first time you use Screencastify, you will need to sign in and grant permissions in order to start recording. Follow along with this GIF or the steps below.
Step 1: Open Screencastify
To start the setup process, open Screencastify by clicking the icon near your Google Account icon in the top right of your browser. If you don't see the Screencastify icon right away, click the puzzle piece icon, it may be that Screencastify is not pinned and instead is in this menu.
Step 2: Signing in with your Google Account
Signing in with your Google Account will allow Screencastify access to your Google Drive. All of your GIFs and videos will be stored in a folder named Screencastify for easy access.

Step 4: Allow access to camera and microphone
Click the new pop up to grant access to your camera and microphone. Screencastify will only need this access when you are recording and only if you choose to record with either the camera or microphone -- if you are only recording what's on your screen, it won't access those tools.

You're all set up!
That's it! You're all set up and good to go.
