If you try logging into Canvas for school on a personal device (not your school issued Chromebook) you may run into a "403 error," or you may get taken back to the sign in page each time you try to log in.
To solve this issue, follow the instructions on one of the guide articles linked below to set up a managed Chrome profile for your ORCA google account. Select the article below for the type of device you are using, follow the instructions to install Chrome if it is not already installed on your device, and then follow the instructions to set up a new Chrome profile for your ORCA account.
- How do I access ORCA programs on a Mac OS device?
- How do I access ORCA programs on a Windows OS device?
- How do I access ORCA programs on an iOS device?
- How do I access ORCA programs on an Android device?
Once you have a Chrome profile created and synced for your ORCA account, if you close and re-open the Chrome window for your ORCA Chrome profile, Canvas will automatically open and log you in.
Note: The Securly filter does not function on personal devices. It is designed to work exclusively on school-issued Chromebook devices to monitor and filter student activity. If a student is using a personal device, their activity will not be tracked through Securly.
