You can easily keep track of your student's online activity via the Securly Home App. Follow this article for more information about accessing and using the app.
Download the app
Download Securly Home App from the App Store if you are on iPhone or from Google Play Store if you are on Android.
To log in, open the app after it has downloaded and tap the Login button. Enter the email you provided to ORCA into the field and tap Get Instant Access. Head over to your email inbox (for the same address you just entered), open the email from Securly, and tap the Sign in to Securly Home button.
To set a password for your account, tap the three horizontal bars at the top of the screen and then tap Account. Then tap Change your password and follow the prompts from there.
View student activity
Open the app on your smartphone and navigate to the Activity Feed tab. Select the device you wish to monitor or view All Activity at once. You will be able to see which websites your student has viewed recently and for how long he or she viewed the website.
Note: The Securly filter does not function on personal devices. It is designed to work exclusively on school-issued Chromebook devices to monitor and filter student activity. If a student is using a personal device, their activity will not be tracked through Securly.
Set up rules and block sites
Open the app on your smartphone and navigate to the Rules tab. Under the device you would like to set rules for, you can choose to block specific sites, categories of websites, and change search settings.
To block a specific site, select "Allow/Block lists" and enter the URL of the site you wish to block.
Please note that certain categories and sites are turned off for all Oregon Charter Academy student accounts regardless of the settings in the Home app.
Restrict internet access during specific times
The Securly parent app also allows users to temporarily disable all student internet access. The pause button in the "home" section of the app will disable all internet access for a selected student on their school chromebook. You can press the same button again to re-enable access.
Additionally the "Offline Schedules" menu allows users to set a repeating schedule for when student internet access is enabled and disabled on their chromebook. This way, you can set a schedule that restricts student internet access to school hours.
