In this Canvas LMS tutorial, we will focus on how to attach images from the web onto an assignment.
There are several ways you can do this. For example, you can use File Upload, Text Entry, and a Google Chrome extension called Save to Google Drive. Let's take a closer look on how to achieve all three!
Using File Upload:
- You can upload an image via File Upload to your Canvas assignment by clicking on the “Choose File” icon.
- From there, a pop-up window will show up. Click on the name of the image file that you wish to upload into your assignment, and press “Open”. For this example, we will click on the Dog.jpg image file followed by “Open” to upload that file into the assignment.
You'll now be able to see your image file’s name listed with a green checkmark to verify that your image is attached.
- Lastly, click on “Submit Assignment”.
Text Entry:
Another way you can include a photo from the web is through Text Entry. Below are the steps on how to do so.
- Click on the Image icon in the Rich Content Editor. You will want to select "Upload Image".
- From there, make sure “Computer” is selected by clicking your mouse cursor on it, and then clicking anywhere in the box with the gigantic spaceship image that has “Upload Image” underneath.
- You will then be able to select the image from your computer, and click “Open” to upload it. In the sample image below, we will be selecting the Dog.jpg image and clicking on “Open”.
- Once you see your image, click the blue “Submit” button in the lower right-hand corner. Your image will then be uploaded into your assignment.
Below is a video reference on how to follow these steps.
And that's all there is to it!
