In annotation assignments, you can add notes, comments, or highlights to a document that your teacher assigns you. You can makes these changes directly in Canvas without downloading the file first.
How do I add an annotation?
Once you have the assignment open, select the annotation bubble icon from the tool bar along the top of the assignment.
Click on a section in the document that you want to annotate, you should see a comment box load on the right side of the page where you can add in text.
How do I highlight and leave a comment?
Once you have the assignment open, select the highlighter icon from the tool bar along the top of the assignment.
Click and drag over the text that you want to highlight. Once you let go, you should see a comment icon appear on the right side of the document, click this and you should be able to add in text.
How do I add a text box to the assignment?
If you only want to add text to the assignment, without highlighting or annotating, you can select the Text box icon along the top of the assignment.
Click anywhere on the document where you would like to add text, you should see a box open that you can start typing in. Once you click out of the box, the comments are saved!
